Full English Breakfast

First and foremost on our menu is the Kingston House Traditional full English breakfast. This comprises of locally sourced products wherever possible and includes:

  • BACON, prepared in the oven, cooked slowly and in its own juices to retain as much of its natural flavour as possible.
  • SAUSAGE, a little bit of old England is what you get here, succulent, sizzling in a coating of creamy butter and just ready to burst open with their own unique flavour.
  • EGG, simple to say but holding back the truth of their West Country free range freshness and quality.
  • MUSHROOMS, halved or sliced and cooked in naturally produced flavourful sauce mixed with butter and a subtle hint of ginger.
  • TOMATOES, the removal of the stalk and skin means there is nothing of these fruits to be left on the plate.
  • BEANS, how can beans be anything but HEINZ, they have treated the palate of thousands over the years and always give you taste satisfaction?
  • BLACK PUDDING, not to everyone’s taste but it is available should you like its inclusion on your breakfast, please request at time of ordering.
  • VEGETARIAN OPTION, if you prefer your breakfast without meat then this is for you, Quorn sausages with mushrooms, beans, tomatoes and eggs of your choice, see below.

Alternatives

VARIATIONS ON EGGS

We have a traditional selection of alternative breakfasts with eggs as the main theme and to keep them company you can add any other item you wish. Some ideas are listed below.

  • OMELETTE, this is a typical breakfast, light and fluffy eggs accompanied with cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes or ham, try mixing a couple of ingredients together, make it an adventure.
  • SCRAMBLED, always a good alternative when a Full English is just too much. Again why not try them with tomatoes, mushrooms or beans, the choice is yours. As with omelettes try mixing a couple of ingredients together.
  • POACHED , having poached eggs on toast has to be an absolute delight, soft centred and adding their flavour to the richly buttered toast, why not try them accompanied with juicy hot tomatoes, what a combination!
  • BOILED , a simple alternative never to be under estimated.

CEREALS AND FRUIT

A selection of cereals such as Cornflakes, Shreddies, Weetabix and Muesli is available, or if you prefer, grapefruit, prunes and peaches in their own juice, and fresh fruit is presented for your choice.

We endeavour to please every guest and we will try any combination or alternative you care to mention. Give us a try, if we can’t complete your order the first morning we shall certainly try to do so on the second.

TOAST, PRESERVES, AND BEVERAGES, a choice of white or wholemeal bread, a selection of jams, marmalade or honey. A cafetiere of ground coffee, a choice of many different tea’s or just fruit juice will round of your hearty breakfast.
